To mark the continued connection between Switzerland and Southwark as centers of creativity and innovation, a special design exhibition was commissioned for the unveiling of the Mondaine SBB Railway Clock. The project was a collaboration between Camberwell College of Arts and Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), in which 12 students were selected from each institution to design a poster inspired by Mondaine’s clocks and watches, and mirroring the 24 hours in a day. The posters were displayed in Borough Market and can now be seen in Southwark Council’s Tooley Street offices. The posters were displayed at a reception that also featured catering from Borough Market stallholders, a brief talk on Swiss-UK relations and cultural exchanges by Diccon Bewes — a British author living in Bern, and a live performance by Swiss musician HEIDI HAPPY.
